Europe is thinking of introducing carbon dioxide emissions caps on new cars as part of their fight against climate change. I doubt that the U.S. will do it anytime soon given that the Big 3 are currently having toubles. It would be the nail on the coffin.

The Europeans tend to talk a lot but rarely follow up with actions. I'm sure the car companies and the unions will tell the government otherwise.
