As the clock struck 12, indicating a new day and a new year, my resolve is to become a
better investor.

Here are some of my resolutions:

1. Quickly dump the losers. We all mistakes when picking stocks. The quicker we dump them
and move on, the better the odds of hitting the winner.

2. Hold on to the winners. Companies are like cruise ships. To change direction, it takes a
while. So when a company does well, they will likely continue doing well. Instead of quickly
taking profit, hold on to them to take advantage of the upward price trend.

3. Be leery of big talk and big promises. If the company CEO talks of changing the world and
or redefining how business is done, run. Look for companies that do not seek publicity and
quietly and consistently deliver on their results.

Spoken like a seasoned investor.

Too many people got burned by some fast talking CEO promising the moon.

It's always buyer beware.

In all honesty, most people that got burned on these speculative stoks deserve what they got. They simply don't do the necessary research. These people rather spend more time researching flat panel TVs then looking for suitable investments.

My New Year's Resolution is to live life to its fullest.

Life is too short to dwell on the negatives. That includes losing
stock positions. After double checking why you bouight into that
stock and the conclusion is it is a rabid dog of dogs, it's time to
put out of its misery.

I could not agree with you more.
