Forecasters are predicting that a tropical depression will become Tropical Storm Erin later Wednesday in the Gulf of Mexico. Just the prospect of hurricanes could make investors nervous and energy bulls excited.

So far so good, no hurricanes that are threatening oil production.

The long term outlook for oil is still healthy.
